Microphone Body for D-87 PCB Kit
I ordered this kit with all the parts and built it in about two hours. My capsule and transformer came in much later from Arienne Audio. I had to fix one small wiring error, and then I was finally able to test the mic. Against the Dachman DA87i, this D87 has less sibilance and sounds more natural with excellent resolution. Overall, I'm incredibly impressed with this microphone. My only regret is not buying two.

It was really exciting and fun to build. Any intermediate DIYer can do it. Matched with a great capsule and transformer, and properly biased, it sounds even better than some vintage mics I own.
