Had limited time to build before traveling abroad for recording. The build came together quick and easy. The sound has held its own against an original U47 FET as well as two different Wonder versions. Quite pleased.

It was really exciting and fun to build. Any intermediate DIYer can do it. Matched with a great capsule and transformer, and properly biased, it sounds even better than some vintage mics I own.

This is a great build. The guide is well thought out and easy to follow, with all the documentation you could want. The parts are high quality and fit together easily. It was really fun, and I'll recommend it to anyone who wants a fantastic microphone at a fraction of the cost of a branded one. It sounds fantastic, and the support has been top notch. No complaints.

This one was made with an Apex body and the D-12 board set. I used an Advanced Audio AK12 capsule and a NOS GE 6072 tube. The build was smooth and everything fit perfectly—both the microphone PCB and the PSU upgrade PCB. Very happy with how it sounds, but still looking forward to installing a fancier CK12 capsule reproduction.

I've built this mic with MicrophoneDIY's amazing boards set, a Beesneez capsule, and a NOS Telefunken EF800. Couldn't be happier with the results, and Martin has been really helpful with my questions. Both the mic body and PSU case are super solid. Thanks for making projects like these available.
